Begin with your plans
You may be thinking about pregnancy, have questions about an existing condition or want advice after trying to conceive. A consultation begins by understanding your history and goals, without promising a particular result.
What to bring into the conversation
- Your menstrual pattern and how long you have been trying, if relevant
- Previous pregnancies, operations or significant illnesses
- Medicines, earlier fertility tests and available partner reports
- Your questions, priorities and any emotional pressures
Tests with a purpose
Ask which investigations are appropriate, what they can tell you and how results would change the plan. Fertility assessment may involve both partners. Some situations call for additional expertise or referral; the next step should be explained clearly.
Before a future pregnancy
Discuss existing prescriptions and long-term health conditions before making changes yourself. The clinic can help you plan a consultation and identify the records that would be useful to bring.
